Master plan · Gata rehabilitation and tourism centre

A spa, a resort and beds for a thousand guests on one site.

The centre's core is rehabilitation and treatment; tourism facilities complement it. The programme is sized from an analysis of comparable centres and the catchment area, with scope for cross-border cooperation through IPA funds, following the Varaždinske Toplice model.

General plan: buildings, pools, parking and greenery between the 280 and 300 m contours, with a stream to the north
General plan. Stream and woodland to the north, access road and parking to the south, the pool complex at the centre, the hotel and care home on the east and west edges.

Facilities on the site plan

  • indoor pool with terrace
  • semi-Olympic pool and outdoor pool
  • motel and hotel
  • care home for the elderly
  • sports platform and courts
  • adventure park
  • bungalows and campsite
  • cable car
  • two squares, three car parks, a service road

Layout logic

The ground falls gently north towards the stream and woodland. Everything that makes noise and traffic stays by the southern road; everything that needs quiet, from the therapy wing to the bungalows, faces the greenery.

The pool complex sits at the centre, directly linked to the sports courts, so athletic training and rehabilitation share the same infrastructure.
